Chirimba School provides safe, permanent learning facilities that expand educational opportunities for rural children and help create the foundations for long-term community prosperity.

KCDT expanded Chirimba Primary School by two classrooms in 2019 in response to priorities identified by local leaders and community development committees. Prior to construction of the extra classrooms, many pupils attended lessons under trees. Today, the two extra classrooms accommodate 123 students, providing a safer, more effective learning environment, helping improve educational outcomes for current and future generations.

Many schools in the communities where we operate have outgrown their facilities, forcing children to learn outdoors regardless of weather conditions. At the same time, increasingly severe rainfall has damaged existing infrastructure and limited opportunities for expansion.

Whilst community leaders identify priority projects, Agricane provides the engineering expertise, funding, and implementation support needed to deliver lasting solutions. The expansion of Chirimba School provided modern classroom facilities that improve learning conditions, particularly for older pupils preparing for examinations, while strengthening educational capacity within one of Malawi’s most underserved rural communities.
