The Kaombe Community Development Trust (KCDT) was established to support vulnerable communities in Malawi’s Lower Shire Valley, where climate vulnerability, poor infrastructure and limited economic opportunities continue to drive poverty.

 

At KCDT we sustainably and continuously invest proceeds from sugarcane production on Kaombe Ranch, generating sustainable development revenue, while our management partner Agricane provides all project engineering construction oversight and technical management to ensure project infrastructure is built to last. We respond to locally identified priorities to deliver sustainable initiatives that improve education, healthcare, livelihoods, infrastructure, and environmental conservation while building long-term resilience.
